The aims of Nursery Teacher Training Programme is to prepare teachers for pre-primary schools, so that they are able to:

• Develop an understanding of principals and processes of various aspect of child's growth and plan educations growth accordingly.
• Acquaint themselves with basic principles of basic childhood care and education keeping in view with goals.
• Familiarize with methods, equipments and material of early childhood care and education with their effective use.
• Understand importance of health, nutrition and welfare services for the child and ability to nurture healthy habbits, prepare nutritive and inexpensive meals and render first aid in case of minor injuries / accidents.
• Be aware about role of parents and community in education of pre-school and early primary school children.
• Develop an understanding of various tools and techniques of child study.
• Organize, plan and implement school programmes.
• To develop the necessary ability and attitude to acquire not only knowledge but also basic skills of profession.
• To enable trainee to access and understand relevant information and to critically examine it and be able to apply meaningfully day to day job situation.
• Be able to willingly accept, appreciate and tolerate difference among people, lifestyles and adjust to them from them enabling the trainee to live, work and grow as member of group / team / community.
• To supplement the demand of ever expanding job market.
